To address the growing concerns in the present Accreditation and Ranking systems of the Government of India had constituted a High-Level Committee. This Committee considered the introduction of strategic reforms consistent with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and the need for adopting a simple, trust-based, objective and rationalized system for approval, accreditation and ranking of Higher Educational Institutions with a verifiable and secured centralised database through technology-driven modern systems. Methodologies for facilitating Ease of Doing Business for the stakeholders, duly facilitating students in making more informed choices for selection of institutions/ programmes were also considered by the Committee.

After a series of deliberations, a High-Level Committee has submitted its draft Report on ‘Transformative Reforms for Strengthening Periodic Assessment and Accreditation of All Higher Educational Institutions in India’ to the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

In light of this, MyGov, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, seeks feedback and suggestions from all the stakeholders for the finalisation of the report.

This report has now been placed in the public domain until August 15, 2023.

Periodic assessment need to help better living. Begin with babus maibaaps, teachers , the test of character & life qualities. Gita- kaam krodh lobh. No deterioration allowed in this. Other important test should be alternatives & /or living through, after failure. The other is the energy levels to do the tasks seemingly effortless , force of habit , dginity of labor. PM rightly said mai thakti nahi, yeh mera bhai hai carrying her brother up in her arms. We need real heroes, who can live with less . How much enuf is enuf. Y do children insist on changing/upgrade their phones. How many pairs of uniform, dress you need. People who have not visited but healthy for years. eating self cooked food . people cleaning temples/langars out of seva , Kirtan, bhajan . Their life stories. It is a shame that none of the padma awardees with huge community impact r not seen as models /advertisements teachers in daily life. the change looks superficial. India needs to learn & adept purusharth

Intent precedes action. Any policy would remain impotent till the underlying intent is clear. NEP looks good on paper but its implementation on the ground is invisible. My opinion is that if the govt is truly interested to make it work, it should create a panel of thought leaders from the industry e.g., directors from IIT Madras, ISRO, IISC, and similar because these are the institutions who have led the path for decades and have forward thinking leaders. Keeping old bureaucrats incharge of a so called new age education policy will perhaps lead to nothing but more mess. Also it is not hidden from anyone that lakhs and lakhs of students go abroad for higher studies and they use time tested, proven mechanisms to filter and shortlist the country, the university, the city. Why reinvent the wheel, when you have a model that works, why not learn from it. Why not hire professional consultants for the job, why not pick the best practices from something like the USA QS ranking system.

Periodic assessment should be performed by trained, professional & honest officials ,there should be a strict vigil on these officials. The accreditation should be done on the basis of factual positions & there should be no compromise & students feedback should also be considered a factor while accreditation is given to any institution.

Sir, We, the already recruited B. Ed teachers from the gazette of 2018 and all the other qualified eligible B. Ed degree holders, want B. Ed to be considered as a conditionless criteria for the recruitment of PRT in all over India but unfortunately due to the verdict, passed on 11/08/2023, the B. Ed degree holder qualified applicants are shunned from PRT recruitment. Please look into the matter and release us from this unbearable pain.
