The Govt. of India has set-up a High Level Committee (HLC) of experienced persons and experts under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Shri Shanta Kumar, to recommend restructuring of Food Corporation of India (FCI) with a view to improving its operational efficiencies and financial management.

The constitution of the High Level Committee by the Government of India and its terms of reference are placed in the public domain at FCI website: www.fciweb.nic.in

General Public and stake-holders including professionals, academicians, scientists, NGOs/institutions, self-help groups, co-operatives, farmer bodies/associations, rice/ flour millers, handling & transport contractors, government bodies etc. in the field of food management, agriculture, storage, warehousing, supply chain and logistics etc. are hereby solicited to send their suggestions on restructuring of the Food Corporation of India.

Suggestions are also invited to reorient the role of FCI in Minimum Support Price operations, storage and distribution of foodgrains and food security systems of the country.

Views may also be given with regard to integration of supply chain of foodgrains in the country, suggesting most efficient model for storage and least cost option of moving grains alongwith tracking of carriage. Views on
models of scientific storage and upgradation of technology in management of foodgrains are also welcome.

pranam PM, the price in PDF and the poor are given food grains and other product at nominal price,and the product is higher price in market, and the are black marketed, the price in PDF should be as market price nad the difference should be paid to him in bank account which will help reduce corruption in food market. and it should be open to all citizen

sir,broker in market must be avoid for agriculture product and market price should be displayed , import should be avoid with more tax or not given permission, Export must be improved with less tax.

Grain storage should be given out to entrepreneurs, who will build silos, care for the grain, and issue as per Government directive. They could be given storage and handling charges. These contracts can be given out on the basis of OPEN AUCTIONS, on long term contracts. This will cut out wastage, theft, corruption, and result in massive economic benefits for the country. MODRNISATION can be achieved thus, at minimal cost, and benefit everyone. Only the bureaucratic deadwood will oppose this prop

Storage: 1. Increasing storage capacity for food grains is time taking activity, following methodology may be adopted to immediately enhance the storage facility: Storage facility of farmers may be used on rental, wherever such facility is not available and location of such storage may be added to create centralized virtual stores. 3. Food grains can be collected from these stores for distribution as and when required. This practice may be followed till sufficient storage facility is created.
