Swami Vivekananda's Birthday on January 12 is always celebrated as National Youth Day. It is celebrated to commemorate the birthday of Swami Vivekananda, maker of the modern India. It was first declared by the Government of India in the year 1984 to celebrate the birthday of Swami Vivekananda as the National Youth Day. Since then (1985), it is started celebrating as the National Youth Day all over the country.

To undertake activities by the youth on National Youth Day, it has been decided to invite suggestions from youth to indicate the activities which can be undertaken on that day.

Last date to submit your suggestions is 15th November, 2016

अनुशासन सफल जीवन सुंदर व सभ्य समाज के लिए अनिवार्य है। परंतु वही हमारे जीवन में गौण हो गया है। दोष हमारे युवा वर्ग का नहीं है, विगत 69 वर्षों में यह सिखाने का कभी प्रयास किया ही नहीं गया। अधिकांश विकसित राष्ट्रों में इसी लिए सैन्य शिक्षा अनिवार्य है । इसके स्थान पर हमारे देश में यातायात सड़क वयवहारि शिक्षा अनिवार्य की जा सकती है। ऐसा कर न केवल युवाओं को अनुशासित किया जा सकता है वरन् सड़क दुर्घटनाओं में होने वाली युवा वर्ग की क्षति को भी हम कुछ हद तक कम कर पाएँगे।

Hon'ble sir, National Youth day 2017 should be celebrated in all town's, cities,districts,talukas and villages of India by establishing youngers community and by organising social programmes on the occasion of Swami vivekananda's birthday. This kind of organisation will definately encourage the youth's of India.National youth day is a big acheivement for youth to use their muscle energy in proper way.

Respected sir, I think from National youth day onwards we should start one mission that is.!! Training all school & College students in vacations about protection from situations like how to tackle and protect people from terrorist attack,natural or manmade calamities,we should train them in such manner that youth itself become so confident that there in-built voice make them secure n confident to tackle in such situations... Result:1)It may help student in situations arise daytoday life

G eve hon'ble sir, 1.On that day swamiji's principles and policies spreads all over india 2. Pls use a energy of un employed youths by private sectors, ngo's, govt orgs to national schems. Thankyou

I also propose release of commemorative postage stamp on National Youth Day. A competition should be organised for youth (set specific age limit) to design this stamp.

1. All State Govts. under their Directorate of Youth Affairs or any other Dept. should conduct Quiz Competitions for students of colleges on life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The top team from each State should be called to New Delhi for a national level quiz. 2. Literature of Swami Vivekananda should be given publicity by organising book exhibitions. 3. Organising essay writing competition and elocution for school and college students on any theme regarding Swami's teachings.
