India Enterprise Architecture (IndEA) Framework along with its Adoption Guide were developed and released in December, 2018. The vision of IndEA is “to establish best-in-class architectural governance, processes and practices with optimal utilization of ICT infrastructure and applications to offer ONE Government experience to the citizens and businesses”.

During implementation of IndEA as well as in the light of advancement of technology, a need was felt to revise the IndEA document and accordingly, after multiple rounds of meetings and detailed deliberations, draft InDEA 2.0 document has been formulated (report given below). India Digital Ecosystem Architecture (InDEA) 2.0 harmonizes and builds upon the architectural frameworks developed during the last few years. While codifying their principles, it provides a pragmatic approach to realize the concept of open digital ecosystems in an integrated and collaborative manner. It recommends a value-driven approach, a focus on capability building and above all, a preference to ‘enabling’ rather than ‘building’. It is an evolving and dynamic framework with continuous improvement as its mantra. The InDEA 2.0 framework enables establishing such a right balance in all the ongoing architectural initiatives and accelerates the realization of the vision of Digital India.

In the light of the above facts, it is requested to kindly review the document and provide your valuable comments/feedback on the draft InDEA 2.0 document latest by February 27, 2022

First of all we must analyse the need of a customer or a group of people , and then create an mobile application and make people understand the use of it , and benefits of it , and address the criticality and complexity of the problem and engage the more people to download the application were in India can be fully digitized and no paper work will take place in government offices , like this we can protect our environment in large. Regards. Cariappa.

I belong to Haryana State. I would like to talk about Haryana State Transport. In Haryana online e-ticketing was started for travellers of Haryana Roadways. But at the time when it was most required the service was closed. it is not started again till now. It can help preventing the long ques of passengers for tickets. It will reduce the work of bus conductors and sitting issues in buses. It has also come to notice that on long routes Roadways Staff is irritating the public as they book seats on calls and passengers in the ques remain without ticket. Also staff seats are limited but this is creating disappointment in public as they are away from the facilities even after reaching before time at the bus stand. The online booking of tickets will provide large benefits like que ending, public satisfaction, record of passengers that will also help in tracking people involved in illegal activities. Record of People who travel with personal vehicle should also be maintained. Many more thing

Under the overarching vision of Digital India Programme, Government of India aims to make all Government services digitally accessible in an integrated manner to citizens through multiple channels like web, mobile and common service delivery outlets. Also, users have become tech-savvy and now demand faster delivery of services, which match with those of private sector and other e-Governance delivering Nations across the world. The United Nations e-Governance survey emphasized on a whole-of-government approach, policy integration and use of Big Data Analytics to provide better governance to citizens. These trends require breaking of sectoral barriers and silos & re-architecting the Government as a single enterprise. Accordingly, a working group was constituted by Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification (STQC), MeitY under the leadership of former IT Secretary, Shri J. Satyanarayana, to develop the India Enterprise Architecture (IndEA) framework.

IndEA provides a generic framework comprising of a set of architecture reference models, which can be converted into a Whole-of-Government Architecture for India, Ministries, States, Govt. Agencies etc. The IndEA framework is based on federated architecture approach and recognizes the need to accommodate both greenfield (new) and brownfield (existing / legacy) e-Governance initiatives.

IndEA seeks to simplify an aam aadmi’s life. An individual can book a ticket on the IRCTC website, check the status of voter’s card on the Election Commission of India website, register a company on the MCA21 portal, book an appointment for passport on the Passport Seva website, check the status of Aadhaar card on the UIDAI portal etc. Clearly, the offline queues will shift to online.
