The Government Departments should give priority to Indian Steel products while procurement is done for execution of various major projects . It may not be possible to ban the import of Steel, as it may go against the WTO regulations. However, for the projects directly being executed by Government Departments can be instructed to give priority to Indian steel rather than imported Steel.Secondly, Indian steel products can also be used while executing Indian aided projects abroad.

To increase steel consumption: These are some ideas besides the ones already listed above.
1. Prefab-steel containerized (insulated and fitted) housing blocks for army personnel in border areas. These containerized barracks can be moved around at short notice. 2.Construction of oil storage tanks (take advantage of low oil prices) by all national oil companies. 3.Construction of elevated steel commuter metro railways (faster const)to be started in all major cities in all states in the country.

While in the macro level steel is in use,the use of steel in infrastructure or housing sector is limited to the use of tmt bars. The government needs to promote the use of steel buildings for construction by all the affiliated government bodies like cpwd .the steel buildings are easy to fabricate and has more design life.additionally it will boost the demand for quality steel.countries like China had followed this to sustain their economy .

Dear Team!
My opinion in general to be used for all minustries is- hoghlight the potential honest employee under govt. from each sector and department' make a significant honest brigade and deploy them on the posts which require serious dealings and scrutiny within the departmental works- like black money(more within India and less abroad) also the problem of every govt. institution revolves around its own dept n not outside. Giving key positions to honest brigade will erase the miscrepancies!
