The Government has reviewed the existing draft National Youth Policy, 2014 and prepared a new draft National Youth Policy (NYP). The draft NYP envisages a ten - year vision for youth development that India seeks to achieve by 2030. It is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and serves to 'unlock the potential of the youth to advance India'.

The draft NYP seek to catalyze widespread action on youth development across five priority areas viz. education; employment & entrepreneurship: youth leadership & development; health, fitness & sports; and social justice. Each priority area is underpinned by the principle of social inclusion keeping in view the interests of the marginalized sections.

The Department of Youth Affairs seek comments/views/suggestions on the draft NYP from all stakeholders.

Please refer to the policy document: Draft National Youth Policy (PDF 1.23 MB)

The last date to share your ideas and suggestions is 15th July, 2022.

Education and training systems will be strengthened and made more relevant through curricular reforms, enhancing teacher capacity, integrating value-based education, and scaling-up delivery of vocational education. In addition, the NEET youth will be supported through targeted learning programmes while at the same time reintegrating dropouts and out-of-school youth. The systems will adopt inclusive pedagogies and ensure trained teachers, counsellors, and therapists are available to disadvantaged youth.

There is a need to recognise and measure the impact of youth volunteering efforts. An accreditation system will be established to recognise and assign weightage to volunteering experiences for higher studies and employment. Credits will also be awarded for volunteering hours that will be linked to school and university assessment systems. This system will be designed based on best practices from other countries like Japan and South Korea, where volunteering credits contribute towards the course and degree requirements. Universities will also be encouraged to create courses for 'national volunteering' or 'international volunteering'. Additionally, a minimum allowance will be given to volunteers in appreciation of their time and efforts.

India has the largest youth population in the world with one out of every four among the 15-29 years age group globally being Indian. They constitute nearly 34% of India’s total population. Despite a projected decline in their share, it is estimated that India would have 365 million youth by 2030, which constitutes 24% of the population. With other countries like China, the USA, and Japan battling issues with an aging population, this is a resource that India can take advantage of.

Government should implement some ways to promote investment strategies within the youth of national and provide some assistance with same, Talking about investment there are so videos, courses and articles floating around but none guarantee correct information about same I want to request that there should be specialised courses for same from early ages at different level so that youth knows better strategy and could become financially responsible for the money they are going to earn. ongoing inflation has increased lots of liability when come to start earning and with low salaries living in diff place across nation becomes tough. Also one is not able to save much, its like hand to mouth situation So we should try and promote these among via some good govt practices through various platforms

I'M STRICTLY AGAINST RESERVATION SYSTEM demolish reservation system for education ,admission to colleges and jobs ETC ALL CITIZENS MUST BE TREATED EQUAL AND MUST BE GIVEN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY TO REPRESENT THEMSLEVS IN RESPECTIVE FIELDS... But as I ALSO AGREE their are people who are actually financial weak ....so govt should launch other schemes based on financial status of a student's family for people who are actually below poverty line or who are financial weak . scholarship exams for financially poor students or home based part time jobs so that they can handle some of their expenses

National Youth Policy 1: 1. Amend the law and abolish caste system. 2. No one should be discriminated based on caste, we only talk and keep in paper that based on caste there shouldn't be any difference, but is it actually followed ? 3. Schools and colleges ask for caste, employment, reservations etc. 4. So, when we say Indian, why we need this difference? Jai Hind 🇮🇳

Hello PMO sir, The most challenging for our country is education and same level of education to all. Our country can grow and become powerful only if our youth is well educated. As a thought why can't we have One India Education Board for 1-12th, College degree. Since our country is diverse in languages and religion but still we can have this. We can have some subjects which will be common for all students in any state or any medium or language like Maths,English,Computer, Social studies etc. And few subjects are as per the state decision like 2nd, 3rd language paper , any state level G.K etc. This will help our students all over the country to be equally competent and also the competitive exams can be made based on the common subjects. We need to start such initiative for the betterment of our future generation. Regards, Dipak

Respected PM Ji,#Youth today In India as per our Indian data youth play a major role in future upto 17.5 yrs it's a limited time but it's more than three term elections. As a leader of India you should bring youth forward to overcome come from their comfort zone to future responsibility zone. Essential leadership must've been developed by every citizen, each have right confidence to overcome their uncomfortable/ unforseen situations means belief system must be improved in youth by support of Gov/elders / system of Gov by arranging them need facility like food to youth healthy eggs, milk, curd extra care from Gov for 17 years program make a youth projects to participate in every each individual intrest games give opportunity to everyone atleast some sessions to improve & prove themselves, take feedback of youth financial background & provide them as free Courses if necessary but Marks scoring system must be avoid in initial stages to help to future knowledge based studies ex:Ghandhiji.

1. Reservations should only remain for EWS quota and all other categories to be removed in all civil/police/government-appointed/directly or indirectly elected posts for socially equitable approach to development and remove the sense of disunity among the youth. (A removal date of the year 2025 can be fixed and steps can be taken accordingly) 2. Ensure to have proper implementation of NEP 2020 in all schools. Anywhere if rote learning is found to have been practiced, stringent actions to be taken. 3. Give appropriate Education to teenagers instead of making them Literate. For e.g., adolescent girls in schools can be taught self - defence techniques and legal protection to be given for them. 4. The reforms of introducing two new civil services - ITS and IEDS can be done to reorganize the structural functioning of education system in India (Attached PDF).
