The General Aids to Marine Navigation along the Indian Coast is administrated by Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships (DGLL) as per Lighthouse Act, 1927. Over the period of time maritime sector has undergone massive change. There have been enormous technological developments in the field of Aids to Marine Navigation. To incorporate the global best practices, technological developments and India's International obligations in the field of Aids to Marine Navigation, the Draft Aids to Navigation Bill 2020 is prepared to replace existing Lighthouse Act 1927.

The Draft Aids to Navigation Bill (to replace Lighthouse Act 1927) is hereby circulated for comments of all concerned.

India has to enhance its technological progress and safeguard it against terror arrest 24/7.We should protect it as our family,we should love our country,we should fulfill our duty and responsibilities. The acts should not be just on paper.Necessary monetary help for mantainence of lighthouse should be provided from time to time.The signal systems should be well developed.Emergency arrangements should be made

Contd -----The current system an airborne aircraft is in contact with the airport tower to tower in range. In this case flying object over air/sea space is registered & recorded on ground data for easy access. Bit complicated but we have the capability. With such facilities we will be utilizing both manpower and technology.
