International Day of Yoga is also called as the World Yoga Day. The idea of International Day of Yoga was first proposed by the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, during his speech at the UNGA, on 27 September 2014. United Nations General Assembly declared 21st of June as the International Day of Yoga on 11th of December in 2014. Since 2015, 21st June is always celebrated as the International Day of Yoga all over the world.

This year, on the occasion of International Day of Yoga, Ministry of AYUSH has decided to invite suggestions/ideas/plans/proposals from Youth/ Youth Clubs/Senior citizens/Professionals/State Governments/Yoga Schools etc. for Celebrating the International Day of Yoga-2017, which can be undertaken on that day.

The last day of submission of ideas is 20th March, 2017.

1.Many people talk about Yoga but only a few take it up seriously. This is mainly due to either want of time or lack of will to change the routine. To address this, Yoga should be made mandatory in all govt&private schools. 2.Children with physical/mental challenges should be included in the program by customized Yogic practices that suit them. 3.Generating qualified Yoga instructors is the need of the hour, fix a realistic target to achieve this.

Now a days kids are eating too much unhealthy snacks which is injurious to their future my suggestion is introduce healthy fruits & nuts snacks like banana chips etc secondly kids brain development parks like puzzle parks etc. in every societies.

Yoga belongs from sanskrit literature. We have to learn sanskrit also. More over yoga means not asana. Hence eight parts of yoga also practised. so please initiate learn sanskrit and Transcendental Meditation also.

There is a need to practice yoga everyday but should not be limited to June 21 or to some schools or organizations etc.,Yoga teachers should be there on permanent or part-time basis in all the schools all over India where our young citizens are shaped as responsible personalities.There should be government or private yoga parlors in every city/town/village which boosts health but also provides employment to many.Performance should be monitored on weekly and monthly basis to make India the GREAT.
