One of the key priorities of the Government is to provide a non-adversarial and a responsive tax administration with the main objective of creating an environment conducive for achieving higher investments and growth. At the same time the focus is also on ensuring ease of doing business for the taxpayers. For individual taxpayers, Government endeavours to promote voluntary compliance by making compliance easy and reducing the cost of compliance for the taxpayers. These steps are aimed to ultimately result in buoyant revenue collections, reflecting higher growth, leading to higher standard of living and better quality of life for the citizens.

The Department of Revenue invites taxpayers and general public to provide innovative ideas and suggestions on tax policy and administrative issues with the objective of ease of doing business and reducing compliance cost for industries thereby facilitating buoyancy of revenue and increase in investment leading to higher growth.

Dear Sir The ITO or Assessing officer should not behave like a police office and the tax payer has made a crime by filing a return. This mind set to change. Make their first duty to help tax payer if he has any tax related quiry. This may be in writing. Most of time the dept did not reply to any letter or mail. and make it binding on them to reply the provision of tax law as applicable. Thanks and Regards CA S K Somani

SUGGESTIONS :(a)amend rules/procedures in such a way that role of middlemen (CA, advocate, CS) in all transaction between taxpayer and collector is eliminated(b)convert paper based tax offices to paperless E.Office(c)reduce size of tax departments to half of present, by reduction in direct recruitment, as overstaffed department will resist simplification since it will make them un-employed (d) trust the citizen and dont insist for documentary proof for every submissions before tax department

be filed in simplified manner.WHY HAVE A TAX BASE WHICH TAX PAYER IS RELUCTANT TO-PAY. Be practical have simplified rates where he/she is left with money in hands to be spent.Just don't think the way the theories teach. Eg:Inflation is all about money supply's control & has least to do with price(s) of commodities in reality.Mere statistics are not going to help. Average Indian is suffering from higher prices of eatable(s), medicines, energy resources, education fee(s), to term a few.

I think this crisis is a output of these tax system(s).Middle class individual ends up with his income paying more than 40% as taxes,Probably the figure may be even more (all taxes central to local bodies).Only two taxes- one on goods manufactured at the point of manufacturing itself & second a flat tax abolishing all other taxes & rebate(s), deduction(s) say @10-15% should be levied. This will revive the purchasing power. This will bring a lot of respite as taxable income & returns can .......

Government spending's are to be taxable so that Govt will get tax from seller and correct spending by officials. The original bills to be uploaded in servers to cross check with seller, buyer and tax department. by this good employment and tax benefit will be created to govt. It should start from village level so that they will take up work with standard organisations/companies. Income tax department or additional department should verify the correctness once in quarterly.

tax laws are so complicated in case of service tax and central excise and it should be simple and straight forward as ease to understand the provisions to tax /duty payers along with strict punishment/penalty as in Income tax in such case it will stop the frauds, corruption and litigation regarding willful tax evasion

it is noticed that some practices are being followed by the IRS cadre for their own benefit e.g. control room duty, wearing uniform by subordinates and protocol in person. these practices doesn't related to the revenue generation but it hampers the actual work as for uniform every year approx Rs.30 crore wastage are there and by remain two practices a loss of approx. Rs. 60 crore reveenue loss due to non availability of work force. please take an appropriate and necessary action to stop these

As simple as the money should be transferred from those who can afford and those who cant but a greatness of nation lies in providing equal services to both....
