My favourite books are:
Mahabaratham written by Vyasa,
Discovery of India by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
The reasons are:
in Mahabharatam Vyasa described the basic qualities of mankind( Dharma, adharma) and their rewards and in Discovery of india we are clearly able to know the history of our Bharatham (Jaihind).

How vain it is to sit down to write when you have not stood up to live." "I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn." "A writer is someone for whom writing is more difficult than it is for other people." "Let me live, love, and say it well in good sentences."
