To clean Ganga we need to perhaps do the following: a) Divide the entire stretch of River into blocks of 20 KMs each, for each block monitor both the incoming water and outgoing water for quality parameters b) Entrust the cleanliness of 'block' stretch to adjoining village/ district or city for maintenance, promote fisheries (improve oxygen levels), eliminate discharge of industrial effluents thru sewage plats, improve waterfronts etc. All proceeds to go to local people

The immediate action against those who are polluting the River Ganga should be strictly taken. The Pollution from Industry should be strictly monitored. The responsibility should be fixed on those where the patch of river is polluted. The water sampling should be at fixed distance on weekly basis so that exact patch can be monitored. The prevention of pollution is only possible when the pollution creator are strictly monitored and hardly punished.

Vetiver grass or Khus grass, has unique pollution absorbing capability from soil, water & atmosphere. Its roots stabilizes slopes & river banks. It absorbs almost all harmful heavy metals including Hg , Arsenic, Pb in its roots and survives high acidity, alkalinity & salinity. It improves soil fertility, controls pest, improves bio-diversity & recharges aquifer. It prevents flash floods, top soil erosion, absorbs harmful farm chemicals & purify water bodies best suited for Ganga action plan.

campaigns, missions and even ministry works are worthless and Ganga can not be cleaned up until and unless people clean their mind. Isn't it feel awkward people taking bath in Ganga with "shampoo and soaps"? well this aspect may be of small importance as tonnes of contamination are thrown into the holy river but the thing which must be considered first is to change the mindset of the people because people are selfish..they want to be cleaned but they will not care if Ganga is spoiled.

Untreated Sewer is a big source of pollution. It is possible to earn significant money from human waste. "You can earn $13,000 a year selling your poop" http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/speaking-of-science/wp/2015/01/29/you-can-earn-13000-a-year-selling-your-poop/ If we could somehow leverage this thought, not only our sewer problems will reduce but will also get push for swacch bharat abhiyaan.

Ganga ko saaf karne ke liye sabse pehle hame kachre ko saaf karna padega agar kachre ka nidan nahi kiya to ganga ki safai hona bhi mushkil hai..Sweden jaisi country main 100% kachra electricity generation main use hota hai, agar india main bhi ye tech.laga di jay or usko subsidise kar diya jay to bahut kuch tak ganga ko saaf karne main help milegi.Ganga main janwaro ke nahane/kachra fekne etc. per strict law banana chahiye or city main ganga main jane ke liye khule raste ko band kar dena chahiye.
