In the recently concluded Rio Olympics 2016, India sent its largest ever Olympic contingent comprising of 118 athletes. Despite the large number of athletes, the Indian contingent managed to bag only 2 medals in the Games viz., one Silver medal in Badminton and one Bronze medal in Wrestling. Considering the size of our country it can be said that the present performance was not up to the country’s potential. Views/suggestions are invited on what specific steps need to be taken to realise full sporting potential of India in forthcoming Olympics in 2020, 2024 and 2028.

In my view the sports should be free from the boards ruled by the political parties. The sports are to be taken in the survilance of ias or other officers who are being appointed by sports qota. Second thing i think is the govt. Should start some accadmy or clubs like for football and other clubs this will improve performance as well as money.

I heard that in recent Rio olympics the physician who went with our team was not at all related to sports, he is a radiologist. if we want to win more medals then first of all select an unbiased team with qualified professionals also increase the budget for sports, proper training institute for sports activites which can provide a good nutrition to the atheletes and an environment where they can train themselves properly

Encouragement in consistent is needed in this area. Be it parents, friends, relatives importantly Guru.... Also talented should be picked irrespective of the locality. Be it tribal, formal, casual etc.... talented ones should be identified in different angles. No recommendations please. There should be chances for improvement allowed not charges....

1.Open sports colleges in tribal area choose them with good physical fitness like selected for army, give good free training to tribal youth. they are very good in physical strength , and temperament .they are very good also in sports like archery and running, 2. Declare one state game for each state and ask state to develop sportsmen in that game i.e.Foot ball for West Bengal, Cricket for Gujarat etc. 3 Make one game compulsory in all schools. 4.Make compulsory game in army, and police .

6)change parents mentality, giving security to their child's carrier 7)if we create sports village, there elder athletes can be appointed as coach(one way of carrier security).though sports quota applies for other job, they need education too 8)sports federations for every sports need to be like BCCI. complete professional, corporate. They shouldnt be sidewings of govt 9) if govt. Lack of budget, can be sponsored by corporates 10)extract tribal people, enough fit as athletes of jamaica

1) appoint physical training teachers in all govt school and make it compulsory to have one in all private schools. 2) in karnataka only there is deficiency of 20000 pt masters in govt.School 3) make sports village in all districts. So that if one interested, after school can be trained there 4) make compulsory to have ground to play in all schools before granting permission to open them. 5) need to grant budget for sports materials in govt schools. Just appointing PT isnt enough.

THE INDIVIDUAL COME FIRST. WHAT WE NEED TO DO IS TO TRANSFORM OUR MINDSET. WE NEED TO CHANGE OURSELVES. WE NEED TO GIVE SPORTS ITS IMPORTANCE. PLAYING SPORTS SHOULD NOT ONLY BE HOBBY. IT SHOULD BE PASSION. OUR PARENTS NEVER SAID TO US "AGAR TEEN GOAL MARA TO MOTORCYCLE KHARID DUNGA". WE HAVE POTENTIAL. WE HAVE DREAMS AND THAT DREAM IS NOT ONLY ABOUT CRACKING IIT OUR BECOMING A CA. MENTALITY OF OUR SHOULD CHANGE AND THIS IS THE BASIC CHANGE WHICH WE NEED.

1)Many people do not find security in this area. Hence do not send there children in sports. CHANGE SCENARIO. 2)Those who are in sports lacks proper guidance, training, DEDICATION, EDUCATION(MORAL,ETHICAL,& ONFIELD). 3)Huge no.of people who are recently joined gov.sector/private job without sports quota entry, have got dead end in sports. Methods need to be developed for managing both sports & job, to utilise these people. This is HIGH POTENTIAL GROUP. There are many more reasons.

The major problem is also in the federation board. It should contains only sports person.Selecting board members should be transparent there should be some criteria for their selection.separate sports committe for each game should be formed which contain only emerging players. They should have a full right to ask anything regarding sports in federation committee.there should be a personalised doctor and food for them.telecast the other sports also expect cricket
