Water is a vital resource for life, and for the economy. Nowadays, one of the most serious challenges to solve and manage the water scarcity. With the depletion of water resources, the demand for quality water is increasing day by day. Water utilities are under pressure to provide good quality water, but are struggling with their outdated infrastructure at the same time. Furthermore, one of the major concerns of water utilities is the increasing wastage and pollution of water bodies caused due to metering errors, leaks, pipe bursts, and industrial waste. To manage all these issues, water utilities have to come up with smart water management solutions and techniques.

IoT may be used in potable water monitoring tools to monitor the quality of tap water in all government owned education institutes and public places. It should be applied in real-time detection of leakages and wastes of factories in rivers and other natural water bodies. It can also be used in monitoring of water level variations in rivers, dams and reservoirs, for proactive disaster management.

Smart water management is the combination of smart hardware, smart solutions, and smart services integrated together to minimize wastage and optimize the utilization. Intelligent use of information and analytics can be leveraged to deliver improved outcomes across the water management lifecycle.

With the help of this discussion platform we request you to share your valuable inputs on how IOT can be used in:

• Demand Forecasting and Allocation of water resources
• Water Quality Testing
• Infrastructure Management
• Improve Preparedness and Response to water management system

Your suggestions on the above topics will help us to make an integrated view and plan of action for Smart Water development by applying IoT and analytics.

Agriculture is inevitable for food production, all agricultural practices include irrigation. In the present scenario of declining water table irrigation must be exceptionally scientific It should rule any chances of water wastage i.e why we a team of 4 students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Keltron Nagar have developed a versatile yet cost effective system to help make the process of irrigation more scientific. We have not been able to get it to the help that is why we need help, somebody pls contact me.

for smart water it is necessary to distribute it in proper way and in systematic way according to population of the city/town.Mnay times we have seen pipeline get busted and thousands of lites of water get wested. Also the design of our tap must be in such a way that it will benefit us with optimum use of water Beside rain water harvesting is also very necessary now days in order to save water and to use in proper way also water recyclation will laso play a very much important role in use of H2O

#SmartWaterManagement, #SaveWater, #IoT, #MyGov #modigov. here i share my collage project that i successfully design and inspiring by western country who used water to generate electricity. through the city water pipe line. The project is water to wire technology Turning Water Pipes into Electric Generators Pipe uses unique, in-pipe turbines that spin as water passes through them, producing clean, reliable, low-cost electricity with no impact on the environment or water delivery.

push semi automatic tap is responsible for more wastage of water, we don't have control on semi automatic push taps. I have seen most places where they have fully automatic taps which will on when we place our hand inside tap. If government restrict to install automatic taps on every company, offices, school, malls, public places. Cost is more this is one of the problem but government can provide subsidy on that.

In my place of residence, the rain water harvesting can be implemented but we stuck with the doubt that what the rain water becomes when it mixes with the polluted ground water which is available from 6 ft onward. The rain water so harvested becomes polluted water. Is there any solution for this?? A real solution to this helps lot of people residing in and around this area..
