Overview:-

The Internet of Things (IoT) can transform the agriculture industry and enable farmers to contend with the enormous challenges they face. The industry must overcome increasing water shortages, limited availability of lands, fertility of lands difficult to manage cost, while meeting the increasing consumption needs of a global population that is expected to grow by 70% by 2050.

Objective:-

New innovative IoT applications will address these issues and help in increasing the quality, quantity, sustainability and cost effectiveness of agricultural production. For example, leverage IoT can be leveraged to allow the farmers to evaluate the soil conditions, moisture level, livestock feed levels density and level of pest control. say if the level of pest control exceeds prescribed range, through sensors alarm and alerts can be generated to warn the farmers to take actions.

The purpose of “Smart Farming” is to increase the quality and quantity of agricultural production by using sensing technology to make farmers more intelligent and more connected.

With the help of this discussion platform we request you to share your valuable inputs on:

• How an individual or an organization may contribute to Smart Farming.
• Experiences and challenges in using technology as a tool in farming.
• Practical/workable solutions for complete imposition of the future of farming- “Smart Farming” using IoT

Dear sir, We need to improve soil health through organic farming. Government official doing nothing in this field. Please provide some help or platform for organic farmers. For farmer we have to provide schemes like Mediclaim & pension yojna so hi saves money through this. & concentrate on farming. I want to also tell you that all subsidy provide through various scheme should be provided directly to farmers account according to land holding & under in single scheme like GST tax above all.

Ground waterrecharge directed to borewells & wells shold be taken, farmers should be given subsidies to form a recharge pit of 5X5 Feet at places in their field allowing recharge.these borewells can be used in summer seasons along with drip irrigation to maximise the moisture content, allowing maximum nutrition to the crop resulting in Good bountyfull crops

The agricultural department staff of the present set up has failed every one of us. Something radical needs to done. There are about 250,000 village panchayats in India. why not post an agrl graduate in every Panchayat accountable to the Panchayat Sabha for Agriculture related extension work. We may not have adequate graduates now. But in the long run it would be OK, particularly with privatization of agricultural education in India.

b) There should be incentive to have more and more Gau Mata Palan which can really impact the employment, health, economy, agriculture and present food contamination. Gau Mata palan will result in more milk/Desi Ghee availability, Gau Mutra can be used for making medicines, making cleaners, shampoos, soaps, Gobar can be used in Gobar Gas Plants to reduce the diesel consumption/carbon emission/Cooking Gas consumption and the slurry can be used as organic manure which will reduce Urea/DAP consumpt

besides smart farming planning of crop is very important. one year we have scenario when a particular commodity is in shortage and price shoots up and then next year all farmers go for the same crop resulting in excess production and price crashes. the way corporates plan at the beginning, there should be proper planning of area sown etc.

We are generating waste water which is flowing through our Nallas and Rivers. We have cetralise treatment plants, which are almost failed. We can go for de-cetralise treatment facilities at every level and use our drainage system to collect or transport the treated water up to farming land nearby. This will help in even areas having scarcity of water. Even we can utilize sub canals available in various areas.
