Discussion in Round 2 of the "Smart City Mission" City Challenge, as part of the process, Haldia Municipality is organizing a Discussion Forum where prominent citizens will take up the Pan-city smart solutions and Area Based Development issue suggested by the citizen through Comment for discussion. Citizens may post their Smart Solutions, Addition and Alteration on Draft Proposal. Please participate in discussion online by login to MyGov.

A smart city uses digital technologies or information and communication technologies (ICT) to enhance quality and performance of urban services, to reduce costs and resource consumption, and to engage more effectively and actively with its citizens. Sectors that have been developing smart city technology include government services, transport and traffic management, energy, health care, water and waste.

1) The first and foremost thing required for any city is cleanliness where several problems could be solved, garbage collection should be regular and the stacking point should be far from houses. 2) Must and should provide clean and pure water supply inorder to maintain good health of the citizens. Energy saving street lights should be setup and steps need to be taken in such a way that even one light fails repair action should be quick. Sanitation with latest methods.5)Underground power l

I suggest we should work on flyover and subways for serious traffic problem we can made some subways in areas Rnichalk,Brajalal Chalk,Durgachalk etc

Public transport is a very important part of the common citizen’s life Convenient and efficient public transport is a blessing for every city With proper attention, it can be made into the safest, fastest and most easily accessible and ensure happy cities and happy citizensThe city bus service should be made more reliable and more connected with all the areas of the city so that citizens can rely on the public transport.

To take initiative from primary school level “what to and what not to do” . Future citizen of Haldia will be smart and activities will be meaningful.

Improve and expand Roads connecting other states and bigger cities. -Need more trains to the Haldia station. -Improve local transport and compulsion for CNG for City bus and Rikshaw or electric rikshaw. -There should be atleast one well equipd and dedicated Helipad for Gov & Commercial use inside the city. -The Haldia Airport should be functional atlest 1-2 flights a day, there are thousands of people out there who can afford to fly and will pay for convin
