Any sports person at state or national level should be entitled for a regular pension life long from state or center as per the level at which person is performing. But before that government should ensure that during the tenure of the player he/she should be provided with the proper infrastructure and equipment in context to the sport he/she is playing for the nation/state and they should be encouraged to continue with there choice of sport by providing them monetary assistance for there family

#Sportsperson: What is the solution? 1. Spotting the talent at a young age. 2.Giving scientific training along with proper diet. 3. Competent professionals should manage sports bodies. 4. No nepotism & favouritism in selection. 5. Stringent selection procedure for int'l events. No point in sending hundreds of athletes & officials to Olympics for 3-5 medals. Money saved can be used for sports dev. Corporates & BCCI may be requested for donation D. No pension for any athlete failing Dope test.

#Sportsperson: The idea is good, but we should analyse why India is not a good sporting nation. The no. of gold medal India has got in Olympic games since 1896 is just ONE ( excluding Hockey ), when Mickel Phelps alone has got 18. Probably other sports can not grow in India because of Indians' obsession with Cricket. But look at the record of Cricket. There are just 8 serious Cricket playing countries in world. And India's ICC test ranking is 7! So there is something wrong. Contd.

This seems to be good idea to give pension to sports persons, but before it attemp should be make to give them proper infrastructure to develop their ability as in many cases due to lack of facilities they could not represent themselves at upper level competitions and thus their ability are been unknown, so this is to taken in consideration to make more meritorious sports persons and lift our nation name in world. On issues of giving pension to meritorious sports person should be implement soon.
