Chandigarh Administration is determined to provide 24x7 access to potable water to the residents of all Villages, Colonies and Sectors of U.T., Chandigarh. Towards its commitment to develop Chandigarh as a Smart City, the Chandigarh Administration has been making every effort, not only to ensure round the clock supply of water but also supply of water fit for human consumption.

The methodology to further strengthen the supply network of drinking water is to be chalked-out in consultation with the residents of Chandigarh. Municipal Corporation Chandigarh (MCC) is responsible for supply of quality water with sufficient water pressure throughout the day to meet their daily needs, but still there is some shadow area in which water in which water supply is problematic due to some reasons. Chandigarh Administration would ensure that all necessary steps are taken up in terms of strengthening distribution network and reduction in wastage of water etc.

Therefore, Chandigarh Administration would like to invite ideas, views, opinion and suggestions from the residents so that the objective of 24x7 supply of portable water could be achieved.

In countries like America, their tap water which comes to their homes is also drinkable. We really need drinkable water supply in all metro cities like Delhi, Gurgaon, Chandigarh etc. The RO system or reverse osmosis systems is like building a permeable membrane through which water flows from one side to the other in osmosis and is fed forcefully in the opposite direction to purify it using Reverse osmosis, which is the concept of RO. We need large government RO centers for drinking water in tap

i wud like to suggest that, we have seen much loss because of dams system. Storing water is not good idea.New idea to provide each n every house with water supply is division of rivers into small rivers to every area which will have running water(fresh) throughout yr and small filtration plants. It will also prevent floods & othr losses, by diversion systms to areas remain thirster for rain. Therefore no area will be left away from water supply whole yr in India.
