The mandate of the Ministry of Culture is to preserve, promote, explore and share India’s culture and heritage along with ethos and values for the benefit of mankind. For achieving this Mission, the Ministry undertakes the following activities:

• Maintenance and conservation of heritage, historic sites and ancient monuments
• Administration of libraries
• Promotion of literary, visual and performing arts
• Observation of centenaries and anniversaries of important national personalities and events
• Promotion of institutions and organizations of Buddhist and Tibetan studies
• Promotion of institutional and individual non-official initiatives in the fields of art and culture
• Entering into cultural agreements with foreign countries

The functional spectrum of the Ministry ranges from creating cultural awareness from the grass root level to the international cultural exchange level. Details about several Schemes which are administered by Ministry of Culture for providing financial assistance for promoting cultural activities are available on the Ministry’s website (http://indiaculture.nic.in/).

Also, various organizations under the Ministry of Culture organize cultural programs and events from time to time.

The Ministry has decided to invite suggestions from the public regarding innovative ideas for effective use of Media in promoting Indian Culture and Heritage.

It is requested that the individual suggestions may be limited to about 200 words.

Dear Mr Ravi Shankar Prasad, Telcos tell us that since the Govt of India did not give them permissions, they are not able to improve the quality of mobile network provided in the Delhi Metro. Students are not able to study while travelling, banking transactions cannot be successfully finished, call drops-be it any operator continues, 3g internet signals are hardly available. Lakhs of passengers travel in the Delhi metro everyday. Could you please look into this case? Regards, Partha Basu

Dear Mr Prime Minister, As per "http://indianexpress.com/article/india/india-others/global-outreach-dd-india-set-to-get-makeover-on-the-lines-of-bbc-world/", the Govt of India with BJP at the centre had promised to create Doordarshan India on the quality and viewership of BBC. As a responsible citizen INDIA, I have a lot of expectations from you. Please take this feedback and improve the quality of Doordarshan. Preserve - *Project India only in a positive light through the media nationally/internationally. Promote - *Include cultural values and ethos into the school curriculums. Build a sound foundation in the children so that they do not receive any polluted western influence. *Promote the Vedic sciences as free education for both aged and young, internet based on full time nationally and internationally. So also arts such as vastu shastra, vedic astrology etc.

Dear sir what ever getting smart city is very good plan we develope this through mobile. for example first step now a days 70 to 80 % of people using mobile tell each and every person want to register their no on that each information they should get by that

Dear Sir, I have a suggestion regarding buying of mobile phone sim card. If a person is travelling away from his hometown and looses his mobile phone there, then he will not have any address proof of that location. Currently, he cant buy a sim card in the new city. I think identity proof should be the criteria for giving sim cards. Thanks, SShradha

Dear Sir, Due to existing tax laws for all these years a good of amount of black money got generated inside the country.One way to deal with internal black money is to redirect it to various sectors like real estate and collect one time 10-15% tax on the amount. Thanks, SShradha

My Dear Friend Tushar Maithani has written a very simple song telling all Indians who go abroad about how beautiful our India is. And no matter what opinion they have about Indian in comparison to other countries the song tells them about the uniqueness of India. The song is called Itna Bhi Kya Bura Hai Mere Des Main.
