The digital space has witnessed major transformations in the last couple of years and as per industry experts would continue to evolve itself. The latest entrant to the digital space is the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT can also be defined as interplay for software, telecom and electronic hardware industry and promises to offer tremendous opportunities for many industries.

With the advent of the Internet of Things (IoT), the number of connected sensors soon will reach trillions, working with billions of intelligent systems involving in-numerous applications will drive new consumer and business behaviour. The demand for increasingly intelligent industry solutions based on IoT will drive trillions of dollars in opportunity for IT industry and even more for the companies that take advantage of the IoT.

One of the top most initiatives in the form of Digital India Program of the Government which aims at ‘transforming India into digital empowered society and knowledge economy’, is expected to provide the required impetus for development of the IoT industry ecosystem in the country.

Department of Electronics and Information Technology,(DeiTY) has come out with a draft IOT Policy document which focuses on following objectives:

i. To create an IoT industry in India of USD 15 billion by 2020. It has been assumed that India would have a share of 5-6% of global IoT industry.

ii. To undertake capacity development (Human & Technology) for IoT specific skill-sets for domestic and international markets.

iii. To undertake Research & development for all the assisting technologies.

iv. To develop IoT products specific to Indian needs in all possible domains.

The Policy framework of the IoT Policy has been proposed to be implemented via a multi-pillar approach. The approach comprises of five vertical pillars (Demonstration Centres, Capacity Building & Incubation, R&D and Innovation, Incentives and Engagements, Human Resource Development) and 2 horizontal supports (Standards & Governance structure).

I dream of a Digital India where every single Indian posses one ID card it should be similar to PAN card. However it should have one permanent Bank Account No, Mobile Number and Editable Address Line. It can be of tremendous advantage to transfer funds for Government Aid and at the same time it should also to be used to file income tax return, Provident Fund, Medical Insurance, Social Security etc. With time this can be improved to choose the Government with capability to cast a Vote.

The policy document is very well drafted to start with and IoT has a great future in India ahead. To add to this, I believe there should be separate consideration for Web Based Services for IoT as most of the sensors will be part of Internet services running on remote server. There needs to be detail information on services structure, service rate, web space provided and number of users/nodes connected.

Sarkar ka kam logo ko rojgar dene ka hai uske rojgar chin ne ka nahi agar koi unite loss karta hai to usko profitable banane k liye rasta karna chahiye nahi ki use band karna chahiye.like hmt watches ko bandh karne ke bajaye use titan k sath marge karne k liye tata se bat karni chahiye ......a sujjestion.

India is world's largest democracy,so let's replicate this democratic system in job recruitment done by Indian government. eg.-Govt. can use myGoV portal for recruitment in different government departments,by recruiting those people who give some brilliant suggestions(based on likes). If this rect. process is logically implemented, then it will increase public participation, which will yield efficient solutions as well as India will be the first country to introduce democracy in job recruitment.

I would suggest that we introduce an escalation method in every govt. Dept. so that every employee is held accountable in their working. I am going to my local CPWD center from past 4 days but there is no one to listen, care or respond. I have seen employees drinking alcohol in the office on Bhai dooj day but they didn't care to address a problem of changing a flush in our toilet which is not working from past 5 days. Every govt. employee knows that no one can harm his job & hence this attitude.
