Need to consider bringing in International Expertise to explore those areas. However, for an Energy Hungry Country like India, we need to start thinking out of the box and encourage our Scientific Fraternity to develop Renewable Energy & Green Energy by a proper funding. If we can reach Mars, we can develop our own energy sources!Another option is to consider bio-fuels. Time to allow natural alcohols to be mixed! In practice in Brazil! Sugar cane and many other cultivations can be supported!

Next time when the oil prices go up please do not ask ONGC and OIL 2 pay for subsidies instead let them earn profits and then ask them to pay huge dividends out of which you can pay for subsidies, this will help in getting a better valuation when you disinvest and minority shareholders would also be happy. It will enhance participation from FIIs and other investors for any govt. company offering. Nowadays everybody feels buying these companies means investing for CSR.

We need good leaders and best people to lead energy concerns like ONGC not just relatives. Alternatives like Solar, Tidal, Wind etc.. are great initiatives but current primary sources like Gas, Oil and Nuclear should be strategically targeted and planned. Ensuring supply meets demand is a worldwide problem and India needs to plan well ahead, build the infrastructure for effective delivery, locate more sources and innovate for effective delivery/usage to meet with ever increasing demand.

Sir there are no vacancies in this sector!
ONGC and other ther PSU's and refineries have poor ways to recruit engineers!
also alot of preference is given to relatives and friends while recruitment
Kindly create jobs in this sector as for india to become self sufficient we want to have the best minds!
