Sustainable Exploitation of oil and gas potential of the North East region could be a harbinger of economic prosperity for the people of the region. Presently there seems to be a disconnect between the local communities and the Exploration and Production (E&P) operators in the region. This seems to be discouraging E&P activities in the region thereby reducing the number of takers for operations in the region. Although the Govt. of India has been taking several initiatives to promote E&P in the NER, it is essential to make the local communities an important stakeholder in the process.

Suggestions are invited from the public which could encourage people's participation in these activities.

The world today fights on 3 reasons...OIL.....Dollar......Gold. If we manage OIL.. dollar can be controlled and its time Govt should put high import duty on Gold...to manage its Trade balance better. We need to Trade Surplus country. We always get dragged by Gold import. our country has so much gold and if its used in proper way it takes 1-2 years for India to beat any country in the world. Unnecessary Gold import also helps in black money creation...and loss to the exchequer. Focus on OIL EXplo

Like KG basin and by Cairn in Rajasthan. More NELP auctions have to be done and WE NEED to strongly communicate/message to the world that India through all biodiesel (Jatropa) and new explorations India will reduce its import on OIL. When India is the biggest buyer of oil Y its dictated by others..it always should be customer is the king. Oil below 50$ will & can change the image & life of every Indian. Its time that the Lion has to make noise in this OIL WORLD which has personal reasons for OIL

Unless we all work towards making India/Bharath self sufficient on oil & gas we will have many problems/issues across spectrum. We need to explore huge resources of oil in Assam & NE apart from Western belt of Rajasthan & Gujarat. The southern belt is untapped and before China makes in road into Andaman we need to put all our energies in this UT. We will get better quality natural resources from A&N island. We will be exporting oil instead of importing and over night we will be so much rich.

Shift to euro6 quality of fuel by 2020.It acquires a urgency after Delhi is titled the most polluted city in the world a look at mumbai, calcutta air pollution levels must be used as eye opener. Besides will lead to about 35-50 billion dollar annual savings and clean air to breathe will be complementary. Companies will cry foul, like always, isnt that a unruly child does when disciplined! They sell cars with airbags to africans n tell India its too expensive for u!

Look at the book "The world is flat" by Thomas L. Friedman, page - 113 to 116. Excellent example that can be used, in my opinion, equally well for exploration of petroleum mining.

TODAY INDIA IS FACING A PROBLEM OF FUEL AND THIS PROBLEM IS INCREASING DAY BY DAY TO TACKLE THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM WE SHOULD THINK ABOUT THIS. TODAY MAXIMUM 75 PERCENT OF HAVING OWN VEHICLE BUT THE GOVT. TRANSPORT IS REDUCING . MY IDEA IS THAT WHY WE SHOULD DECREASE THE STOP THE BUYING VEHICLE THOSE PERSON WHO HAVE MORE THAN ONE VEHICLE AND IF THEY BUY THEN GOVT SHOULD FINE ON IT . I THINK LESS VECHILE THAT RUNNING ON PETROL WOULD DECREASETHE PRICE OF FUEL AND INCREASE THE CAPITAL OF COUNTRY
