Just a thought, if we can link the clean ganga initiative with the new companies law and connect the program with CSR payments and income tax laws in the country. The corporates will make the contribution towards the initiative as it will be a easy way of making compliance. Further, the corporates should be allowed this CSR as business expense. Also, if we can hire companies like L&T to work for #CleanGanga initiative and provide them monitory motivation (like CSR exemption, IT rebate etc)

The ghats should have garbage bins and toilets. People can't be expected to keep ghats clean if they are not given the facilities. This should be supplemented by stiffer penalties.

This govt just fooling around with faith people gave in abundance. Here few inputs. 1) Replace Uma Bharati with a capable young minister to show some improvement on ground. Like done in Railways 2) Start lectuon like campaign in each city that has a river at its side to create awareness and momentum in local people. Unless they stop polluting all cleaning effort will be waste. 3) publish monthly report in media/parliament on progress achieved. Build practical plan, just execute sir

The roof/truces of existing bridges on rivers can be used as base for solar panels. The bridges in addition to light up self can also light up the approach roads and streets. The decoratively lighted bridges from the top will adorn the City. The new bridges should be designed to take care of this aspect. The Solar energy can be generated without having any requirement for additional land. Well decorated and lighted up Bridge can be a tourist spot.

Government's actions should look credible on the ground and the plans should be announced well in advance. The informations should be of good quality so that people can plan investments based on such information. It is impossible for government to do everything. it is important to involve more and more people into this project and it is the information and banking facilities which will motivate people to get involved in various dimensions of the project.
