“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

Use of Solar energy for all Bill Boards in the cities would be a good beginning for energy conservation. This would be a visible change. We can have Green & Clean energy bill boards.

Surface run off is a major reason for ground water depletion, soil erosion, floods, water scarcity in non-rainy season. Policy shall declare a duty of whoever is concreting the surface to ensure water goes down in the ground. whoever is damaging the natural phenomenon of ground water recharge is liable to correct the wrong.
govt can create recharge points, and charge "concretiser" to maintain such recharge
points.
Bottom line- maintain the natural process, nature will care of us

Our hydel dams, drinking water dams are mostly filled with silt. The local corporations,Govt are doing very little to desilt due to non availability of finance and will.I feel central govt should mobilize large capacity dredging units which can finish the work on war footing .This can result in higher power production, drinking water. The dredged silt may be fertile can be used for farming, sand could be used for construction.hydel power generation being environment friendly we can save fossil fuel.

To save on petroleum products we need a proper management of traffic at signal lights.we can't afford costly flyovers at every junction.Nowadays there are cctv installed at most of the junctions. The monitoring of traffic in police station through cctv as they can view more distance ,sequencing of several signals in big cities which is being already done better adjustment during peak hours.Experienced traffic management with qualified personal based on traffic data collected by computerisation.

a) In school education itself energy conservation to be taught to build our Nation as an empowered one. In South Korea, no traffic signal is monitored by traffic Char-gent, the citizens of S.Korea obeying traffic rules in a appreciated manner.Because they had been seeded the rules in the studentship itself. If we are seeding the energy conservation ideas and techniques for environment protection, which will give a fruitful result in the decades.

The municipal councils are among the bigger culprits in wasting electricity. Street lights on in the daytime are not at all uncommon. The state electricity boards can be advised to cut off power to these utilities from their end in morning if possible. Repair or replacement should need special restoration. Shall save power and also give a good msg. Municipal bodies will also be able to save on electricity bills. Similarly, Govt offices should have fixed responsibility for switching off lights

this note i am telling for protection of women in general...when a women is asked by her husband not to go for any job or her family situation does not permit her to go out for job,the husbands should be made to invest atleast 10% of his income in his wife's name and law should protect the wife such that the investment so made in his wife's name is not touched for any loan and liability of her husband...
