Under UJALA scheme, the main objective is to promote efficient lighting, enhance awareness on using efficient equipment which reduces electricity bills and helps preserve the environment. Efficient light bulbs, like LEDs, consume only one-tenth of the energy used by ordinary bulbs to provide the same or better light output. So, we ask you to suggest ways for promoting the use of LEDs on this open discussion forum.

LED selling price to customer should be lowest from other bulbs, rest will fall in place... Govt can give subsidy, tax exemptions to LED manufacture who produces low cost LED

Please make one Govt Order so that all the educational institutions, government offices, private companies, industries, banks, public places, auditoriums, etc. must be used LED bulbs. This mandate is to be made strict with some effective date, otherwise penalties to be levied on that respective organisations. LEDs are to be make more marketable in every corner of the city/town/village so that it is easily available in all shops. Different LEDs to be make depends on the power consumption/glowness

I think we can provide LED bulbs at Ration shop and in rural area on each card holder must have to buy atleast one LED bulb otherwise their card service will be terminated because rural areas must to use LED for cost effective and save energy for future. I know its difficult to buy for poor families but government can give them on subsidies.

I feel that most of the people in urban cities know about LEDs and what are their advantages and many of them have replaced bulbs from LEDs.So rather than in cities we need move in rural areas where people use ordinary bulbs. We need to help them understand that LED's are economical(cost efficient)and have long working life when compared to ordinary bulbs. So we need an interactive and innovative way to convey the message of usage of LEDs. We can organize street plays and show them practical egs.

Competition can be held between municipalities or panchayats. Those who are able to get maximum Led usage within a time frame should be awarded and their heads should come on tv.
