Under UJALA scheme, the main objective is to promote efficient lighting, enhance awareness on using efficient equipment which reduces electricity bills and helps preserve the environment. Efficient light bulbs, like LEDs, consume only one-tenth of the energy used by ordinary bulbs to provide the same or better light output. So, we ask you to suggest ways for promoting the use of LEDs on this open discussion forum.

Please release a scheme under which ordinary bulbs can be replaced with LED bulbs. Government authorized agency can go to each and every house and request people to exchange their old bulbs by LED bulbs on the spot. Also agency employees has to explain male and female member of the house about the benefits of using LED bulbs in terms of money saving.

LED bulbs works on low voltage without loosing the brightness. Better reduce the voltage, where only lighting is used. Saves electricity and increases uses of LED bulbs, Every day morning in my house, except LED no other bulb is working, Thank God at least LED bulb is available. Most of the times morning times voltage is very low in my area, Except LED bulb nothing is working. Use the Low Voltage as opportunity and utilize for LED bulb implementation.

I would like to mention a few things where in the use of light emitting diodes can be enhanced: Firstly, if we use them in chandeliers in hotels and other such places. Secondly, LED bulb users' electricity bill can be incentivized by giving them a genuine rebate. Finally, if we are able to replace the yellow CFL's and Bulbs used in some places yellow LED's can actually replace them.

I am working in a power plant which is using big bulbs and. Consuming more than a town electricity. So if for all factories led lighting can be done mandatory and all hotels malls and all govt organization to be covered then we can save more than individual population because they. Are already trying to decrease the bills but big setups don't care

Start at the grassroots and with kids. Run energy-use awareness contests that reward finding energy wasting bulbs with a replacement led bulb. Use the collected data of usage to run targeted campaigns to encourage switch-over. Finally, set a cutoff date beyond which filament bulbs are banned from domestic use or add additional tax on their sales while subsidising LED ones. See this (https://goo.gl/VdCuvh) for contest ideas.

Give responcible persion or commitee for whole india as same as state and bottom to the end of grampanchayat...and one thing give it to a private sector company like wipro or other led manufacturers under indian goverment...but remembering that the leader at the top is the very sensitive persion about electricity shortage issue...and then handover this commitee to the private sector..create a private team ir company for that..and follow up day to day basis. Its very effective method to improve.

Currently, people have to produce electricity bills to get the bulbs. 1. Allow the bill collectors to complete this process. Say, every metre will be awarded 5 LEDs free of cost and they can buy desired quantities by paying X amount of money. 2. Media ads like that for gram sadak Yojana will do the trick in creating more awareness. 3. Reward the households who've reduced usage of electricity after using the LEDs.
