Under UJALA scheme, the main objective is to promote efficient lighting, enhance awareness on using efficient equipment which reduces electricity bills and helps preserve the environment. Efficient light bulbs, like LEDs, consume only one-tenth of the energy used by ordinary bulbs to provide the same or better light output. So, we ask you to suggest ways for promoting the use of LEDs on this open discussion forum.

In villages the percentage of using LED bulbs is very low or nothing.. So we should give priority to villages. It is easy to motivate a Urbaner than a villager.

Distribute minimum 5 led bulbs with every new connection of electricity . Motivate the people by television adds. convenes the peoples by campaign. always show the newspaper adds. Motivate the people as possible as you can. Give priority to the BPL card holders and the villagers. Ban or replace the high power bulbs with LED. stabilize minimum 1 camp in every village for distribution of LED bulbs for free or on a very low cast.

from where to login? cumbersome experience.. anyway..i visited one electric shop..the shopper was angry on govt as govt sells led bulbs n poor small shoper afraid of income..let govt allow small shoppers to take part in selling process rather than keeping the venue of buying led from an electricity board office in a horrible area like shahpur..pardon but..also not convenient to reach for all..bring it nearer to homes of users..it is really good i saw result when my driver bought it BMKJ

Dear Sir, Pl. sell LED bulbs and other related equipment's through PDS , Municipal/GP/state govt. agencies with more concession rates for each family on producing Aadhaar card of family head. All Corporations/municipalities/Govt. offices start using LED Bulbs. Educate citizens with posters/TV ads on power saving , comparison between LED and normal bulbs poster , Govt. subsidy on each bulb poster etc. Drawbacks of existing ordinary bulbs poster. Increase tax on the conventional filament based bulbs and tube-lights and increase the incentive on LED to reduce the difference of cost.

Campaigning of using LED bulb should be increased by Govt. By giving hoarding in Railway Stations, Bus Terminus, Shopping Malls, On the side of National High Ways where people come and goes every now and then, and govt should introduced a scheme for selling out LED bulb to common people by giving discount. People can be attracted more or more by getting discount.

Making mandat dosent sute for the people of low and middle class. If we want to make them using led bulbs is to make them aware about the advantages they get by using this bulbs and making avilabe for them (if not free of cost but at the very low cost). And af course for the above middle class make it mandate for using the led bulbs. But the floes here is, there is no mechanism for check this.. If this bulbs are used by every citizen than the use of electricity can be reduced in mear future....
