Under UJALA scheme, the main objective is to promote efficient lighting, enhance awareness on using efficient equipment which reduces electricity bills and helps preserve the environment. Efficient light bulbs, like LEDs, consume only one-tenth of the energy used by ordinary bulbs to provide the same or better light output. So, we ask you to suggest ways for promoting the use of LEDs on this open discussion forum.

In india, electricity is mostly used in marriage, reception and party functions. And in night, they used huge number of bulbs and tube lights. if govt had put a rule to use limited power to use in these occasions, we can definitely gain more energy.

Before lightning LED we need power. How someone suppose to light LED even if he had no power at all. I appreciate that our government has running such a champion but what happen in villages, Electricity department has cut the power any time they want in the name of transformer failure or other issues. This is the ground truth of village Chhapara dist. Seoni M.P. (480884). There should be proper management. In villages there should be provide information of power cutting daily via news paper.

When we are discussing regarding LED and my point of view in villages and even in a city maxi peoples do not know what is exactly LED. In rural area and villages, most of the peoples are know if they installed LED they can get the light white light like tube light. They do not know if installed LED in place of normal light what they can save in monetary terms. It should be clear in very easy and understandable way. Also in rural area availability of a good quality LED is a big challenge.
