In order to equip them to look after their needs, it is necessary to impart skills to them. Most of them are unskilled and this makes their rehabilitation in alternative occupations very challenging.

What are the ways in which beggars/ destitutes can be skilled and gainfully employed so that they do not return to begging?

Participants may share success stories, as they may be aware of.

Last date for sending your suggestions is 18th November, 2014.

A large number of beggars are lazy people without self -respect. Local leaders should help them stand on their own feet. Begging in the street should be banned. Then they will do useful work and get paid. Some prefer to beg rather than work as servant. Some have cash/bank balance -- as much as 18 lac. Strange India...Incredible India

Beggars are essentially by product of poverty.Special scheme like food for work, monetary incentives against work should be taken. At the same time some strong action of prohibition of begging is required.Disabled beggars of course should be rehabilitated by providing food, shelter.and incentives.

PM jan dhan yojna is not going on right track....Poor people have to take leaves from their work to move to banks to ask about status of their accounts. But banks made excuses every time and just say 'We dont know about all'...Please do something...your scheme is loosing its strength.
