In order to equip them to look after their needs, it is necessary to impart skills to them. Most of them are unskilled and this makes their rehabilitation in alternative occupations very challenging.

What are the ways in which beggars/ destitutes can be skilled and gainfully employed so that they do not return to begging?

Participants may share success stories, as they may be aware of.

Last date for sending your suggestions is 18th November, 2014.

To rehabilitate: 1) give them food (energy) to activate their brain. 2) give them shelter (peace) 3) provide mental strength(by council ling) 4) provide them work (for living ) IF no change in them? pick a few punish them with dirty & tough jobs under army or Navvy. No more beggars will be seen around from next day.

help is required to work practically and if we want to make a change then we first look for the local one who have time for other i think the local one have knowledge about the field working .this boys/girls are in found of job and work so govt should employee the local youth in open engagement and a basic pay is required to them so that they get free from the household expenses as they get free from the pressure they think free and positive so we first encourage the unemployed youths for change

Once professional and genuine beggars are identified (my suggestion to do this on a related forum) the former needs a stern warning whereas the latter can be classified on age and ailment. Able bodied ones can be trained & can help in much needed areas like keeping public toilets clean in exchange 4 usage fee, greening the sponsored sidewalks and traffic roundabouts, maintaining dustbins in public areas in exchange for revenue from recyclables, help to traffic police for traffic mgt.

Most of them are physically challenged as they may not found their proper jobs. There are many working organisations for physically challenged ones. The thing is that they need to go to them and get them a proper work to earn.

Its a true story. Once I was travelling in a train.I was busy watching beautiful greenery outside window. A man was selling "samosa", Papa asked if I like to have one. Without noticing there, I said "Yes". I didn't like the taste, my father asked would you like to have another. I was about to reply "No", but to my amazement I saw the "samosa" seller had no hands. He had two spoons attached to his broken arms to somehow lift and put in a paper to give. He could choose to be a beggar but didn't.
