Electronic waste (e-waste) creates a global crisis due to environmental degradation. India, as a growing economy, is facing serious challenges in managing the volume of generated e-waste due to lack of environmental awareness and socio-economic issues. Major concern of e-waste management in India is its recycling undertaken by non-formal sector not adhering to health and environmental norms.

While e-waste poses a problem for the environment it is also a source of valuable resources and contains a number of precious metal and mineral resources, which are available in very limited quantities in nature.

While Ministry of Environment and Forests and Climate Change is involved in enacting laws, guidelines referring to e-waste and has formulated the E-Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 2010 wrt safe handling of e-waste, Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) has addressed indigenous technology development through its R&D efforts to recycle e-waste and extract pressure resources following environment and health norms.

In this direction DeitY has initiated a demonstration plant to showcase its developed technology of processing printed circuit boards (PCB) to recover precious metals at Bangalore. DeitY also proposes to provide capital subsidy to authorized recyclers for processing e-waste similar to support available under the M-SIPS scheme of DeitY. Further recyclers using indigenous technology could be given additional advantage.

DeitY seeks views and suggestion to address the e-waste issues both in term of technology development as well as policy initiatives.

Comments should be received by 10th February, 2015.

E-waste Collection Points... - There should be e-waste collector vans collecting e-waste from these stores on a regular basis or on-demand in case of a huge collection. - We should have electronic collection drives as national/state/regional level campaigns to create awareness among people and also collect the electronic waste. - Hefty fines to be imposed on any industry/unit not following e-waste recycling guidelines and dumping it with normal waste.

E-waste Management:1. Collection Points(Aggregate E-waste): - Our main collector for junk is local kabaadi-waala who basically collects everything and dumps it to recyclers. Awareness campaign and association with these Recyclers on how/what to do with Electronic Waste would be the right step. - Each major electronc store should be having an Electronic Re-cycler Unit. basically, a box to drop e-waste like batteries/chargers/electornic equipment etc. Continued..

I have realised the short film on the CSR responsibility of the corporates. The fine example is the crèche built for the school children in JNU. Let us lend our hand towards policy making that could develop our community.

People in mumbai are openly speaking of "sabotage" by Delhi BJP Unit to ensure AAP party victory. Kejriwal had also announced TOP BJP leaders called him and assured him victory. There has to be an internal investigation to catch the "moles" in BJP.

I 'm living in UP's district pilibhit, and seeing the the price and quality of the product are in continuous change instead of dip in Petrol/diesel price So It is my suggestion that There should be control over the seller and marking the manufacturer for Quality goods with command can only supply the goods in the market with the optimum prices(evaluated). It comes in observe that the Some Privileged people in the market are deliberately making their monopoly together, So please do the needful.!

Issue related to Healthy India : There are lot of ayurvedic OTC medicines (including chywanprash) from reputed companies. There are rumours that these medicines have heavy metals and steroids. Shouldnt there be a thorough investigation into this.
