Town and cities in India are undergoing continuous physical expansion and densification along with growth in urban population. Inner cores of many cities have older areas that require redevelopment to accommodate the present needs of the city. One of the key requirements is greater availability of land for public use like roads and other open spaces. Redevelopment for these areas can be undertaken by preparing a Local Area Plan.

A large part of city expansion takes place on urban fringes in an unplanned way. In such a scenario, agricultural plots with haphazard geometry are converted to urban use and little attention is paid to provision of urban infrastructure. Planned urban expansion can be provided through the Town Planning Scheme (Land Readjustment) mechanism wherein existing agricultural plots are merged and redistributed in a planned way after making deductions for street RoW and land for public uses. The urban infrastructure is financed by Value Capture Financing like betterment charges and sale of reserved plots.

The proposed sub-scheme intends to focus on these three vital issues; (i) Inner City Redevelopment through Local Area Plans, (ii) Planned Urban Expansion through Town Planning Scheme and (iii) ensuring training and capacity building of planners at the local level.

This view is with regard to Traffic Management and Parking especially in the CBD areas of Bangalore. Unfortunately, Bangalore was never planned for population explosion. The need of the hour in Bangalore is to create "Vehicle Parks" in the congested areas. My suggestion is to build underground parking areas in the city. Identify vacant lands or play grounds, build underground parking and restore the play grounds on top of the vehicle parks. Eg;Parade Ground on MG road can be converted.

Sir,with the ICEGATE System being inadequate or inefficient, the steep penalty for delayed filing of import docs is unjust. Please ensure a robust IT infrastructure before GST roll out.Your bold and much needed reforms for the country will fructify only if backed by a sound infrastructure.Frequent glitches in the system should not be allowed to mar the great and bold measures launched by you.But these inadequacies must be addressed forthwith to ward of unwarranted criticisms of my government.

As explained in last post, the CNT is the final step in water treatment.A modified CNT has membrane pores just little larger than the size of a water molecule. Therefore, only the water molecules pass through and all other larger molecules of acids, salts and bacteria are stopped. This system exists in reality and if used carefully, will allow us to reuse around 75-80% of waste water therefore saving the resource for use elsewhere. This can also be implemented in current cities to solve water crisis.
