One of the Key indices of a Smart City is better education and health. Given the area of UT Chandigarh educational institution (Schools and Colleges) are very well managed. Many of the Govt. schools in Chandigarh are at par with best schools in Chandigarh. But still we want our residents to give their views/suggestions on how we can assure global standards in our schools & colleges.

Chandigarh is a cradle of health care not only for its own residents (population 10.5 lacs) but also to the residents of neighbouring states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Jammu & Kashmir. However for meeting the utmost satisfaction of our residents and to match the global standards for health scenario, we need suggestions/views of our residents.

For meeting the standards of HDI (Human Development Index) & MDG (Millennium Development Goals) we need Smart Ideas/Suggestion from our residents on education and health sector.

It's my humble request that outdated syllabus from books should be removed in schools and colleges and the efforts should be channelised towards providing practical knowledge.

Dear Admin / Discussion coordinator,
I have been posting regular mails and sending emails to the office of PMO and HRD for nearly the last 2 years but have not received any acknowledgement from either offices. I would like to know how these discussion postings are consolidated and brought forward to the concerned offices/ministries.

India has 40+ Crore illiterates and even the literate people are illiterate in their own mother tongue. Education reforms are needed to eradicate illiteracy and provide basic valuable education for all people. Can the government not open a 1000 community colleges across India in the next 1 year? This will provide both Siksha and help with Vikas for the country.

Well firstly school bus with disco songs or songs to be curbed
Secondly boys and girls to travel separately
Thirdly till now few have crossed/not cared castism in love/*** but you care it in education etc

Teachers to study students behaviour and steps to correct mistakes has to be mandated daily with a report.

students of India should be made inspired to compete with self. Only then researchers can be made out of them. The movies of India should reflect good nature, respect elders, timely appropriate activities, knowledge, love for family, disciplined lifestyle, employment in non forceful& non fraud professions, staying in good areas for residence, stay away from bad company, liquor, smoking, abusive language, blameful activities. Make media subconciously inculcate such values through movies, etc.

There should be no reservation on caste basis in any field.Reservation on caste basis promotes difference by birth and is very dangerous for the integrity of the nation.Reservation should only be for upliftment of the poor irrespective of their caste. Higher education should be immediately freed from reservation.it is depriving the nation of it's real growth potential and cheating on meritorious students just because he/she doesn't belong to a particular caste. This is absolute injustice.
