India is among 51 countries to sign the “Rome Declaration” on “Achieving Self-sufficiency in Safe Blood and blood products based voluntary non-remunerated donation”. Blood is an intrinsic requirement for health care and proper functioning of the health system. National AIDS Control Organization under Department of Health and Family Welfare has been primarily responsible for ensuring provision of safe blood for the country since 1992. National Blood Policy 2003 reiterates firmly the government’s commitment to provide safe and adequate quantity of blood, blood components and blood products.

However, in India, a needy patient or his relatives have to run from pillar to post in search of blood and the onus of procurement of blood still lies with the patient and not with the service provider.

Suggestions are invited on how to develop a nationally coordinated and well networked blood transfusion service in the country and reach 100% voluntary blood donation to enable us to meet the global goal of self sufficiency in blood and blood products.

cont..of earlier;then only young doctors can implement innovative ideas for better healthcare, the promotion in administrative medical posts must be on basis merit judged by written test.At present the state health service & central health services are completely different in respect of structure, duty pattern, salary, promotion etc. The medical service should be autonomous like judicial services.

please make doctors under one service like IAS it should be Indian Medical Service ,the administration should be totally regulated centrally ,all administrative posts must be doctors on basis of merit (competitive exam);every official including health secretary must be a doctor & most important the medical service should be political influence free, just like USA .The pay scale should be similar nationwide irrespective of state, doctors must undergo administrative training like IAS,afterselection

I would like to say about reservation, unemployment, population control and gender discrimination in children. There should be policy which addresses all these points. I feel if government brings a policy which allows reservation and scholarships (other benefits also) up to first two children only. It will reduce discrimination in girl and boy child. People will plan small families so population will be controlled. Burden of reservation will reduce and slowly unemployment will also reduce.

..(contd.) As I mentioned earlier huge population is curse for rapid development so it must be reduced but all of us know the problem but rarely have the solution.I think Modi ji I have a few your MAAN KI BAAT is proper plateform for this. You can reduce by giving the people incentives in the form of preferences like higher interest rate for deposits, rebate in loans& many such preferences for the family of 2 children & no one would give the false statments b'coz its d matter of CHIDREN.(contd..)

Every day since last 3 months I am observing that the locality I live in Pune called Narayan Peth and nearby localities as well are filled with a typical smell of smoke. This happens minimum 2 times in a day. Since it occurs every day it is harmful to the health of people living in this densely populated area. Similar thing I have observed at Kolhapur where my parents reside. The source in both the cases ought to be found out and this pollution ought to be stopped.
