India is among 51 countries to sign the “Rome Declaration” on “Achieving Self-sufficiency in Safe Blood and blood products based voluntary non-remunerated donation”. Blood is an intrinsic requirement for health care and proper functioning of the health system. National AIDS Control Organization under Department of Health and Family Welfare has been primarily responsible for ensuring provision of safe blood for the country since 1992. National Blood Policy 2003 reiterates firmly the government’s commitment to provide safe and adequate quantity of blood, blood components and blood products.

However, in India, a needy patient or his relatives have to run from pillar to post in search of blood and the onus of procurement of blood still lies with the patient and not with the service provider.

Suggestions are invited on how to develop a nationally coordinated and well networked blood transfusion service in the country and reach 100% voluntary blood donation to enable us to meet the global goal of self sufficiency in blood and blood products.

One issue that can improve health education in the country and bridge the gap between the Developed Countries and India in terms of healthcare is to allow Indians with Post graduate and higher education from outside India to take up teaching positions in Indian Medical Colleges. This will allow for introduction of better (and not necessarily more expensive) clinical practices and ideas in Health Education

Portal for payments to Governments Citizens need to pay the Government in many contexts: Panchayath tax, Professional Tax, Property tax, Income tax, Electricity bill, Telephone bill, Internet bill (BSNL), Vehicle tax, etc. For payments, one has to reach the Departments or has to remit through many portals. To simplify this a Government Payments Portal is necessary. Web-based deals is increasing daily. The portal would be quite useful; it will also speed up revenue flow. K.Swarupanan

Every News through all media (i.e. TV, Print etc.) must be reviewed by some body before it broadcasts to the public. This helps reduce the issues like communal violence, panic during emergency situations etc. Sensor board for movies must be more stringent and approve only those movies to be released which is not harmful for society in any ways. Religious beliefs and ideologies must be considered carefully while reviewing both News and Movies.
