Television Audience measurement implies measurement of what is being viewed on television. On the basis of audience measurement data, ratings are assigned to various programmes on television. Television ratings in turn influence programmes produced for the viewers.

In 2012 MIB sought recommendations of TRAI for laying down comprehensive guidelines/accreditation mechanism for Television rating agencies in India to ensure transparency and accountability in the rating system. After an exhaustive consultation process TRAI gave its recommendations on “Guidelines/Accreditation Mechanism for television ratings Agencies in India” to MIB on 13th September 2013. The Authority supported self regulation of television ratings through an industry led body. TRAI recommended comprehensive guidelines for registration of television rating agencies. MIB accepted TRAI recommendations and notified Policy Guidelines for Television Rating Agencies in India on 10th January 2014. Under these guidelines, the industry-led body BARC was accredited by MIB on 28th July 2015, to carry out the television ratings in India. BARC commenced its operations in 2015 and since then it is the sole provider of TV rating services on commercial basis.

Several concerns relating to neutrality and reliability of the existing rating system have been raised by stakeholders, which necessitated a need to review of existing Television Audience Measurement and Ratings system in India. Accordingly, TRAI has suo-motu floated this consultation paper with basic objective to solicit the views of stakeholders on regulatory initiatives/measures to be taken to make TV rating services more accurate, widely acceptable. This consultation paper also explores possibilities of use of new technologies to enhance credibility, transparency, neutrality and fairness in the TV rating in India. Written comments on the consultation paper are invited from the stakeholders by 2nd January 2019. Counter-comments, if any, may be submitted by 16thJanuary 2019. Ishwar kirpa s agar aap fir PM bane to Desh ki jansnkhya niyantran k liye kanoon jaroor banaye qu ki aap kitni traki aur yajanaya bana liye sab kam pad jayegi. haa agar desh ki jansankhya agar control ho jaye to traki ka asar dikhne lagega. nahi to sab kam hi nazar aayega chahye aap kuch bhi kar lo.

Ishwar aapaar shakti ka malik hai aur wo sab dekh raha hai. m is baat se bjp s naraz hu ki BJP khas kar aap n hinduo k liye kuch nahi kiya. kam s kam ayodhya ram mandir k liye sansand m kanoon banane ka prayas to karo Ishwar aap ka sath jaroor dega. modi ji ki soch thik hai magar jin logo k pass rojgar k thik thak sadhan h wo modi ji ki baat samajh sakte hai. magar jo log jiwan yapan k liye sangharsh kar rahe hi unhe desh ki traki, aur economic growth se kuch lena dena nahi hota. agar next time fir bjp sarkar aaye to kuch pocket se kuch kharch to karna padega. agar BJP sakar UP aur Maharastra m fir s ek ek lakh ka karj kisaano ka maaf kar de to in States m BJP ko saari ki saari Lok sabha ki seats mil sakti hai. jaise kahwat hai ki paise k aage to bhoot bhi nachate hai. Dusra Bihar, aur anya rajyo m jaha BJP ki sarkar hai waha bhi thik aisa kar sakte hai. aisa hone k baad ko loss MP, Chhatishgar aur rajasthan m hua hai uski bharpai BJP kar sakti hai. Aam janta ko GDP growth rate, Sansex economic growth, world ranking s kuch lena dena nahi hota.

Now a days, On television only 1 percent positive shows are telecast. Very few shows like OMG Yeh Mera India. Negative shows like, Big boss, Coffee with Karan, ------Effect of this, new generation specially kids feel happy while watching this and they are easily accept such culture. And we all know such culture demolished our Indian ethics. Solution Make show of Chankya, Shivaji, Arjun, there are many more. If we keep showing such shows our next generation will be like this.

i think that certain types of advertisement should be given only in the night.for eg advertisement related to sexual hygeine etc.because showing these kinds of ads may effect the younger audience.this is according to my personal experience.
