The girl child today faces inequality and gender based discriminations even before birth. The nation cannot move forward unless women are given opportunity to realize their full potential and contribute to nation building.

Given this context, please share your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and feedback on how we can change the discriminatory social construct in order to celebrate the girl child. What should be our communication strategy for improving the situation and reach out to people?

Modi ji please do something about the misuse of rape and dowry laws.

Sir why is it that when parents tell thr girl child that " tu hi hamara beta hai" is a proud moment for the girl but if the boy is said " tu meri beti bhi hai beta phi" then it is derogatory for the boy to hear. Sir we have to change this mindset. God has made us all human beings, just divided us into two bodies man or women. We need to break that barrier and be human first. Equal participation for women in everything. Women's Reservation Bill must be passed but with certain aultarcation.

Today only, almost 30-40% old parents are taken care by their girl child. Having an effective law and order situation and gender respect and education will help. All samajs should be requested to include gender education in their meetings, forums and festivals giving examples of already successful females and families.

Sir,discrimatory social construct against girl can be changed by multi prong approach. First is efficient Education Sytem for Girls. Second is sensitisation of boys towards their opposite sex by Effective Gender Education.(The concept of Sex Education needs to be replaced by Gender Education).Gender Education means telling boys to respect the existence of girls in the society.Boys must understand that girls also needs space to live and express themselves.we need to sow now to reap afterwards.

Sir, when a woman gets pregnant, it is the ladies of the family who make her realize to have a male child. It could be mother in law, sister in law or mother of the pregnant lady. It is never her husband or father in law. The reason for such behaviour of these ladies of the family is that they have suffered being a woman and they dont want the new born girl to faces such sufferings.Sir,our govt. must infuse confidence in these women of our country for the long term safety of every girl.

Sir, despite having Prohibition of SexSelection Act( PNDT) Act since 1994, sex ratio has only dwindled till now. This indicates that this act needs to be restructured immediately to accomodate changing social scenario of our modern scoiety and our learning about this issue since last two decades.
