The man who taught us that In a gentle way, you can shake the world, beginning his new innings with his 150th birth anniversary. He has left the legacy of teachings of morality, self-sufficiency, forgiveness, non-violence and satyagraha, etc behind him. Now, as the world is rapidly developing and growing in different dimensions , there are some areas which needs to be concerned for sustainable and inclusive development .

With these pedagogies in understanding, Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti invites you here at this digital platform for an open and free flowing discussion where you can share and discuss your valuable ideas.
These ideas can be further utilized by Samiti in conducting different programmes dedicated to mark the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi.

Everybody or nearly everybody is aware of Gandhiji's role in freedom movement. To me his greatest contribution was that he successfully removed fear from the mind of ordinary Indians during his leadership. Previously most of the Indians were mentally unable to face an Englishman. Gandhiji gave us our spine. Those who came directly in contact with him were not at all afraid of any English official however high.

Gandhi's philosophy on entrepreneurship and self sufficiency with simple life should be imbibed and taught in schools and colleges. Within his limitations he promoted cottage industry through khaki etc.He was involved in a bigger goal of seeking independence from a power which was the biggest hurdle in our tryst with self sufficiency and entrepreneurial zeal. Model of Gram Swaraj was an attempt to move towards the goal of self reliance and not averse to modernism.

It is amazing how Mahatma Gandhi led several satyagrahs to force public opinion on the British. We should follow the footsteps of the Mahatma and join hands in a mass movement for several pressing issues like climate change
