How can we address the issue of skewed access to higher education which will reduce existing regional disparities and why have existing schemes failed to resolve these gaps.

IT IS POSSIBLE FOR GOVT SCHOOLS TO BE BETTER THAN PRIVATE! ESSENTIAL INGREDIENT IS MANDATORY 5 YEAR CONTRACTS AUTOMATICALLY RENEWABLE FOR SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE! ANOTHER KEY INGREDIENT IS FASTER PROMOTION & HIGHER INCREMENTS BASED ON PERFORMANCE! TO ENSURE SECURITY, THERE IS NEW PENSION SYSTEM WHICH ENABLES PENSION SO LONG AS CONTRIBUTION IS GIVEN! AT PRESENT TIME, MAIN PROBLEM IN ENSURING QUALITY EDUCATION IN GOVT SCHOOLS IS THAT HIGH INCOME GROUP & VIPs DO NOT ENROLL THEIR CHILDREN THERE.

YES! GREAT REGIONAL DISPARITY EXISTS IN LEVELS OF EDUCATION! RURAL & URBAN AS WELL AS SOUTHERN & NORTHERN STATES. BIHAR, UP, ORISSA etc LAG BEHIND. METROS HAVE MUCH BETTER FACILITIES & QUALITY EDUCATION. WE MUST GIVE INCENTIVES LIKE EASIER ENTRY TO HIGHER LEVEL INSTITUTIONS OR ASSURED JOBS IF STUDENTS VOLUNTEER TO TEACH IN THE INTERIORS FOR FEW YEARS. JUST LIKE GIVING DOCTORS EASIER ENTRY TO POST-GRAD COURSES FOR THOSE VOLUNTEERING FOR RURAL STINTS. TEACHERS COULD ALSO GET HIGHER ALLOWANCES.

3) Teachers: The great teachers are the ones who have passion in teaching and learning. We should not discourage the teaching community. We should encourage teaching people or the one who interested in teaching. Teachers should not be salary oriented people in order to make it we should give them good salary and facilities required for them to teach students the practical aspects. If we can change the mindset of teachers it changes mind set of students and hence mindset of INDIA.

Education field me reservation(arakshan) puri tarah se khatam ker dena chahiye. Iska ek alag tarika bane, agar kisi gov. ya party ko lagta hai ki arakshan jaisa kuchh hona chahiye, to jitne bhi school/college hai unka sara kam digital tarike se ho, kaun bachcha school/college aaya nhi aaya se le k uski puri detail ho, ye record gov. k pas per year jayega, record dekh k gov. decison le ki kaun sa student arakshan jaisi chij pane layak hai, to gov. use usi institute ya gov. coll. me puri chhut de.

2) Exam oriented learning: If we see our Education system its more towards the exam oriented than learning. We should some how get a system in place like the gurukula where rather than exam oriented learning experience oriented learning used to take place. Subject taught should be used some where. We Indians are good at studies but when it comes to the application we fail. So every subject should have practical things to be done so that students can use it when required.

Hello All, I might not know many issues related to education. But here are the few things which I have observed in my surroundings regarding education and which I wish could be changed. 1) Quality of education: Quality of education given in schools all across India is not same. We should maintain the same quality through out country so that all students gets a same exposure and chance to show his/her talents.

We do not have good examples in schools. The teachers are not willing to share or impart knowledge to the sincere students even. There should be one board across the country. And same parameters for examining. Different boards, different classes, different attitudes... we are creating clear cut class divide by this. It won't help in the long run. Education till class 10 should be uniform for every child.

Education sector in India needs reviewing. Schools and colleges are letting coaching classes mushroom in their premises. A child who does not attend coaching classes and sincerely wants to learn has no place. Since 90% kids take extra tuition, the teachers are disinterested in teaching in the school. So are the students, who come to school for fun. A sincere learner's quest is left in the lurch. We r creating sub standard minds with rote notes. Education is expensive yet its very cheap quality.

This disparity is result of attitude & lack of livelihood. If one looks at States at bottom of Table, it is evident that, people look to earn daily bread first than studies. Ramakrshna Missions etc address these very problems by adopting kids of such poors to educate. Let us admit whatever some political parties say:"Edu. should also be a concern of such private bodies. "YOU SEE HERE WORTHWHILE COMMENTS. BUT, IF YOU CONFINE TO EXPERTS FROM EDU-FIELDS, YOU GET ONLY SKEWED VIEWS, YES OR NO?"
