Chennaiets' rail needs:We want to introduce bullet trains but not able to solve 20 minute wait for passengers in the outer of Chennai Central. We introduce elevated rail corridors in Chennai but not able to connect Egmore and Chennai Central for through travel from North to South. To solve this two additional elevated rail lines from Basin Bridge to Chennai Central with elevated platforms at central may be thought of to relieve 20 minute wait in the outer and for through connection to Egmore RS

# Food in Train: Consider appointing "food agents" on all railway station to cater hygienic and fresh meals in train, instead of same from pantry cars. All station heads are to be made responsible for food quality check and approvals for serving in train. Remove 'paneer' based subji from meals and provide quality green vegetables. Meals in Train should not be considered as cost but should be addressed as service and government's endeavor should be to improve service at cost.

in most of the station there is RPF, put them in picture and make sure flammable materials are not carried. when it can happen in airports where CISF makes sure these things are not carried, then RPF can very well take care of these things.

Indian Railways lack International Standards as per IRIS, the body for setting those standards.
Also our railway sector is in shortage of 2 lakh crores to complete already existing projects.

If a system to buy general tickets through internet or mobile can be started..many people who travel ticket less bcoz of long queues at the ticket windows will buy a ticket and then travel. A ticket can be just an SMS with the destination, booking time and validity of the ticket.Thr shd be an option to print the same in case needed.it shd be non transferrable..I think it will make the ticketing process for general tickets a lot easier.with mobile evolution and Jan dhan bank a/cs it can be reality
