A Press Conference was held by Collector to Make Aware the Citizens about Smart cities initiative and gather support from citizens to build a Smart City Proposal.

We appreciate the efforts of all the participants and thank them for their interest, enthusiasm and keenness in participating in the prestigious National Insignia Design Competition for Indian National Defence University.

On 16th Septeber 2015, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly Vanamadi Kondababu, Member of Parliament Sri. Thota Narasimham addressed the Citizens of Kakinada about its selection in 100 Smart Cities and requested them to provide active participation in prepartion of Smart City Proposal.

On 10th October 2015, Hon. Mayor Mr. Alok Sharma hosted the United Doctors Federation and other medical practitioners at the Jehan Numa Palace Hotel. Other dignitaries present at the event were Mr. Surjeet Singh Chauhan (BMC Chairman) and Mr. Chandramauli Shukla (Additional Commissioner of BMC).

Rourkela Municipal Corporation has initiated the process of citizen consultations for Stage 2 of the “Smart City Mission” City Challenge through various mediums such as MyGov, social media (including Facebook and Whatsapp).

Amravati Municipal Corporation has been selected for the Smart City Challenge and we would like to invite all the citizens to give us your input in making Amaravati a Smart City.

Saharanpur Municipal Corporation organized an eight day workshop and talk show “Jansamvad” as a part of citizen engagement program under mission smart city.

On 9th of October 2015, Hon. Mayor Mr. Alok Sharma hosted Mr. Stephen Yarwood, the former Mayor of Adelaide, Australia to invite ideas and suggestions on developing Bhopal into a Smart city while preserving its greenery and heritage.

Municipal Corporation Jhansi and sponsored Punjab National Bank Jhansi has been successfully organize the Smart City Essay Competition Subject “Aaiye Hum Sab Milkar Veerangana Laxmi Bai ki Nagri Jhansi ko Smart City Banaye”on October 20, 2015 in Deendayal Sabhagar Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh).
